Play Tanki OnlinePlay Tanki Online gives you all the information you need to know about the game before you begin your career as a battle-hardened tank commander.
This is not an official Tanki Online website, merely a guide to the game from an individual perspective. I am by no means an expert on the game, nor am I a high ranking officer that will ever achieve great things in the game. All the same I do get a great deal of pleasure playing Tanki and enjoy discovering the many facets that make this such a great game. Tanki Online, from what I can gather, is played predominantly by people under the age of 20 years, but there are older players, and the game is open to anyone - male or female of any age - for free! What is Tanki OnlineTanki Online is a massive multiplayer online tank game that is free for everyone to play. The game, which is based on Adobe Flash technology, was created in the middle of 2008 by AlternativaPlatform. Tanki Online is a browser-based game in the third-person shooter genre. The game attracts players from all over the world and the games server stats show that there are many tens of thousands of players online at any one time, so you should be able to find plenty of battles regardless of which time zone you live.
Gameplay is organized into battles, in which players battle other players. Tanki Online features four game different modes: Control Points, Catch the flag, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. Players may enter or leave a battle at any time they wish, via the main lobby. Entering battles late usually results in a lower score and fewer crystals rewarded but can be useful for completing one of the daily missions. Every battle begins immediately when they are created by you or another player, regardless of whether the teams are balanced or the battle has the maximum number of players selected, but the countdown in a timed match does not start until at least one tank has joined the battle. Battles end when the timer reaches zero on the small clock on the bottom left of your screen. Once the game has finished a leaderboard appears showing the performance and crystals awarded to each player in the game. You have the option to exit the game or just wait for the battle to restart, with everyone reverting back to 0 points for the battle. Battles take place across a variety of maps, most of which are player-contributed while some of them are designed by professional in game map designers. Maps are distinct and create a different style of gameplay and different maps also favour different weapons. For example - the smaller maps favour close-range weapons, such as Firebird and Freeze, with the larger maps being more favourable for Shaft and Railgun. Most maps come in a 'summer' and a 'winter' mode, with each mode using different buildings and landscapes; 'Day', 'evening' and 'night' modes can also be selected. In addition to selecting the map and mode, each battle, which is user-created, has one more setting called "PRO". This extra setting lets players turn on and off such settings a 'auto-balance' and 'friendly-fire'. There are also drop boxes that fall from the sky and contain certain boosts when collected by a player. Some of these boosts speed up the player's tank, another makes the your tank create double damage on other tanks, some give your tank double armor for better protection, and some heal your tank back to its original level. Armour, damage and speed boosters wear off eventually. |
