Tanki Online - Maps - BoomboxThe Boombox map on Tanki is one of the smallest in the game and the battlefield where I began to appreciate the Ricochet turret. Catch the flag and Death Match battles are perhaps the most popular with players. Control Points battles on Boombox can be frantic as there is just one Control Point to fight over. Team Death Match battles can be good fun as long as you have sufficient numbers taking part (maximum is four on each side). There are lots of opportunities to sneak up behind an enemy tank on Boombox and if you use a fast hull you can create havoc.
This was the first map on which I played a Catch the flag battle, when I was using Twins. It was an eye opener, giving a lesson in small map fights, where speed was a key factor. The central section of the map is the raised portion of the map which has a building and a watchtower on it. This raised section can offer an advantage on tanks below for the likes of Ricochet, Railgun, Twins, Thunder, but is Firebird, Freeze and Hammer that generally dominate battles. Protection from enemies on the higher level can be found all around the central section by hugging the wall but Ricochet can still get you by bouncing its shells off a number surrounding small buildings that are scattered about. Watch out for the three ramps to the higher ground too, as these are good places for those above you to get direct hits on your tank. Boombox is available to players who hold the rank of Private and higher in the Ranks Structure. Take a quick tour of the Boombox MapBelow is a "Real Time" tour of the Take a quick tour of the Boombox Map, showing the flag positions and the routes between the two. It also shows many of the supplies drop points along the way.
Booster Drop Zones on the Boombox MapBelow is the plan of the Boombox map showing all the booster drop locations. With just one of each of the Double Damage and Double Armour boosters, these are highly prized during battles. There are two Speed Boosts on the map and two Repair Kits.
The map shows potential hiding places but the reality is a little different as you are likely to be found quite quickly by experienced players when they notice someone is missing from the game.
