Tanki Online - Maps - DusseldorfThe Dusseldorf map on Tanki is simply huge and hard to play when there is a full compliment of players. The map is an urban map packed with tall buildings and a huge road and alleyway network. Team Death Match, Death Match, Catch the Flag and Control Points battles are available but it can be hard to get enough people interested, but if you can it is a great map to play. Personally I find this a hard map to play due to lag in the connection, often making it impossible to drive properly or fire accurately.
The most striking aspect of this map is that there is not a single repair kit! If you do not have any of these in your personal supplies, the chances of you running a flag from the enemy base to your own teams base is severely reduced but not impossible, when there are good numbers of players on each side. This may be one factor in the apparent absence of players that join games on Dusseldorf, which is a shame as battles can be incredibly intense. Dusseldorf is suitable for all turrets; Shaft, Vulcan, Railgun, Thunder, Smoky, Ricochet, Twins, Hammer, Firebird, Freeze, and Isida. Shaft and Railgun have long roads to look down and pick off enemy tanks, Ricochet has walls everywhere to shoot their shells off and round the corner to hit tanks that think they are safely hidden. In team games, the other weapons either roam the map in search of an enemy tank to destroy and attack the opposition base, or sit in a defensive position protecting the flags or control points. There are seven control points in that battle mode with the two flags double up as a control point. A third control point is located in the centre of the map and the other four are within sight of this point to the east, west, north and south. The road network is not complicated and is in the form of a cross with extensions that branch off to the two team flags in opposite corners to the north east and south west. It is well worth going to the Creating Battles menu and starting up a game in deathmatch for just two players. this will give you the opportunity to explore this wonderful map, as knowing all the routes from one bast to another, without losing your bearing could prove invaluable in later battles. There are also a good number of raised grassy section around the outside of the battlefield that can be navigated and can make a useful placed to try and hide a shaft tank. Dusseldorf is available to players who hold the rank of Sergeant Major and higher in the Ranks Structure. Booster Drop Zones on the Dusseldorf MapBelow is the plan of the Dusseldorf map showing all the booster drop locations. Note the lack of repair kits, which means the kill rate is higher than on most maps. There are 10 speed boosts which do help to run the flag and get around the map much quicker, which really is needed. The five double armour boosters are spread quite widely, as are the double damage boosters.
