Tanki Online - Maps - EdinburghThe Edinburgh map on Tanki is quite small but also a little complicated, and it may take one or two games to get to grips with the routes. Either half of the map is identical to the other but 'flipped over' 180 degrees. The map is essentially a large fortification, with what are best described as outer and inner walls, with a few building inside to represent dwellings or shops by the looks of it. There are two levels to play on with the upper level being a cobbled pathway big enough for all sized hulls that go a full 360 degrees around the centre of the map. There is access to the lower central part of the battlefield from either end via a pair of archways, which sit adjacent to the two ramps. Team Death Match, Death Match, Catch the Flag and Control Points battles are all available on this map and these often get hectic, although most players don't even seem to know that this map even exists. It is rare to see the name 'Edinburgh' on the list of battles, in any mode and this is a shame as it is good fun.
Edinburgh is suitable for all turrets; Shaft, Vulcan, Railgun, Thunder, Smoky, Twins, Hammer, Firebird, Freeze, and Isida, but perhaps above all other Ricochet. With all those walls and corners, Ricochet players should be able to get the better of most tanks at Edinburgh. Mine layers should also enjoy a battle on the Edinburgh map with plenty of narrow pathway to booby-trap enemy tanks. There are three control points in that battle mode with two of them on the lower level which are reached by going through archways and one in the centre of the upper level. Edinburgh is available to players who hold the rank of Warrant Officer 1 and higher in the Ranks Structure. Booster Drop Zones on the Edinburgh MapBelow is the plan of the Edinburgh map showing all the booster drop locations. There are two of everything, and with the rest of the map are placed in the same location in each half but 'flipped over' 180 degrees. The double armour boosters are on the lower level, tucked away near where the control points sit in that mode. Also on the lower level, next to the two flag positions are speed boosters. On the upper level are the repair kits and double damage boosters. It is hard for a single tank to attack an enemy base with both double armour and damage without using personal supplies. it is equally difficult to defend without them too.
