Tanki Online - Maps - HillThe Hill map on Tanki is a very small map and possibly inspired by the 1965 movie of the same name. From one side to the other it starts at a low flat level then rises up a steep hill, on to a flat top then back down a steep slope to a small flat section at the bottom where the team flags are positioned in Catch the flag battles. There are no hiding places other than the being on the opposite side of the hill from the enemy.
To play this map it is best to adjust the view that you have by dragging your mouse wheel, or pressing the Page Up/Page Down key, or even [ and ]. Ideally you want to be looking on both sides of the hill at the same time so you are not caught out by the enemy. In the centre of the map is post with a Tanki advertising board. With a little skill, Ricochet tanks van bounce shells off the underside of the board and on to the enemy. Typically the likes of Firebird, Freeze, Hammer, Thunder, Twins, Isida and railgun are the weapon of choice for most on this map, regardless of the battle mode but there is no good reason why a strong Smoky cannot have success. Death Match and Team Death Match battles are crazy with a full compliment of eight players so you can expect to get destroyed on a very regular basis. Unfortunately this is the type of map where being outnumbered makes for a seriously miserable experience and the chances are you will get a proper hammering form the opponents in team games. There is no Control Points mode on the Hill map. Hill is available to players who hold the rank of Warrant Officer 1 and higher in the Ranks Structure. Take a quick tour of the Hill MapBelow is a "Real Time" tour of the Hill Map showing the two team flags, route between them and supply drop points.
Booster Drop Zones on the Hill MapBelow is the plan of the Hill map showing all the booster drop locations. The first thing you will notice is the absence of any repair kits, which makes for a better game to be honest. There are two of each of the double armour, double damage and speed boosters though and these are essential. If you let your enemy team on to your half of the map, they will be looking for the boosters on 'your' half of the map and that is fatal. Once they have you oinned in to your part f the map, it is nearly game over.
