Tanki Online - Maps - PolygonPolygon is a small map and is one of the best for all out, close-quarter warfare. Polygon is used a lot for Control Points, and these battles can produce some very high scores and crystals earnings, providing you are on the winning team or one of the leading players in the losing team if it is a very close final score. Catch the flag, Death Match and Team Death Match battles can also be a lot of fun and are more often than not very intense, due to the popularity of the map.
There is just control point which is located in the 'pit', in the centre of the map. Most players simply head for the pit and join the all the others, usually with Firebird killing all and sundry. Most other tanks can usually score well on Polygon if they get their tactics right. Thunder, Ricochet, Smoky and Twins are really good firing in to the pit from the surrounding land, while Vulcan, Shaft and Railgun can take advantage of some higher ground to the east and west and snipe from distance. The buildings around the pit are also excellent places for Railgun to hide behind. Hammer and Freeze typically jump in to the pit with the Firebirds. Isida with strong hulls often do well on Polygon but those with inadequate protection will more often than not just blown away. Polygon is available to players who hold the rank of Sergeant and higher in the Ranks Structure. Booster Drop Zones on the Polygon MapBelow is the plan of the Polygon map showing all the booster drop locations. Being a small map, Polygon has just one Repair Kit, so you can not rely on it for a health top up very often, especially when there are lots of other players. There are three Double Damage boosters with one of them sitting on the position where many tanks enter and re-enter the game (this is called 'Spawning'). The Double Damage booster in the pit is a great idea and if you can grab this during battle, you may get one or two more kills before you are wiped out.
The Double Armour booster in the south east corner is another spawning location, so if you are lucky you can be spawned and instantly get double protection. However, this corner has a high spawning rate so you are likely to be facing an enemy tank almost instantly in Death Match battles.
