Tanki Online Turrets - Shaft
The most original gun created by the Tanki Online Team is Shaft. It can shoot at an enemy in arcade mode by pressing the spacebar or in sniping mode using an optical sight and charge accumulation by pressing and holding the spacebar until you are ready to fire. Shaft remains stationary in sniping mode and you can manually adjust the sight both vertically and horizontally.
Shaft is a great choice for sniping, and is the only gun with an optical scope which allows it to hit targets at long range with ease. Shaft can also fire at short-range without using the scope. The Shaft turret Works well with any hull, however the light hulls risk flipping over from the recoil!
I have tried out Shaft but I have never been totally satisfied with it, perhaps because I am not able to stay in one position just waiting for something to happen. There are many players though that do use Shaft, and use it very effectively. You know when a Shaft gun is watching you as you will see a blue or red lazer (your opponents team colour) or red lazer in Death Match mode. The chances are that if that lazer is pointing at your tank, you are going to get damaged or destroyed.

Tactics and tips when using Shaft
- There really is only one tactic to adopt when using Shaft and that is to find a position that offers as much cover as possible. In urban battlegrounds this is often not possible so you need to find a position that provides as much ground to scan as possible. Higher ground is normally a good option.
- Do not play on very small maps such as Sandbox, Duel or Boombox. You almost certainly will not get much of a game in such battles. If you have to play in one of these small maps for the daily mission, either change the mission or change your turret.
