Tanki Online - Maps - EsplanadeThe Esplanade map on Tanki is a medium sized map but on three levels. The majority of the map is on the floor level and a slightly raised section adjacent to it's length. the remainder of the map is a combination of a subway under the large building to the north, and ramps that take you to the top of that structure where there is a long pathway with shipping containers to hide behind. You can access both bases from the upper level by means of a twisting ramp way at each end of the pathway. The east and west half of the map are practically identical, making it a very fair map to play. It is also a map that needs a little exploration when you first play as there are several features you could miss, such as some boosters and repair kits (See below), not to mention two subways where you can launch an attack the enemy bases and often sneak up behind the enemy defenses.
Esplanade is among the maps that are available to the lower ranks in the game, and I think many players get something of an affinity for it and keep coming back further along their career path. Catch the Flag is very popular on Esplanade and these battles are fierce when good numbers of players take part. The flags are located on the lowest level, just inside the building at either end. There three routes to attack each flag. Control Points is perhaps the next most popular battle mode followed by Death Match, then Team Death Match. Esplanade is suitable for all turrets; Shaft, Vulcan, Railgun, Thunder, Smoky, Ricochet, Twins, Hammer, Firebird, Freeze and Isida. Shaft and Railgun have a lot of ground to cover here to pick off enemy tanks, on both the lowest and highest levels. Ricochet can have a lot of fun on the higher level with enemy tanks trying to hide behind the containers. There are five control points in that battle mode with three of them on the pathway on the highest level. Prime hunting ground for the snipers. The team that dominate this level will normally win and this is typically where most of the fights occur. The remaining two control points are on the slightly raised section of map adjacent to the doorways that lead to each of the flag positions. It is not uncommon, during Control Points games, to see just three or four tanks (two from each side) with all the other players a the top of the building. Esplanade is available to players who hold the rank of Master Corporal and higher in the Ranks Structure. Take a quick tour of the Esplanade MapBelow is a "Real Time" tour of the Esplanade Map showing the two team flags, routes between them and supplies drop points.
Booster Drop Zones on the Esplanade MapBelow is the plan of the Esplanade map showing all the booster drop locations. One of the repair kits is hidden in a small subway with three access points. The other is on the highest level and you need to go up a narrow ramp and negotiate a tricky right angle to get to it. Don't be surprised if an enemy tank is already up here though. Up the same ramp, and more obvious from the pathway below are two double armour boosters. Staying on the top level, there are two double damage and two speed boosters, one of each at either end of the pathway. Outside on the lower levels you will find three more double armour and three more double damage boosters along with four speed boosters. Quite a generous collection for the size of map.
