Tanki Online - Maps - GubakhaThe Gubakha map on Tanki is a large sized map and one that I have not played very often and indeed is a map that rarely features on the battles menu, so I am making the assumption that it is not very popular. That may be a pity as it looks like a fabulous map, packed with features, though most are walls and ramps, although there are some pits to fall in to and never get back out. The map is basically a middle level central area with ramps leading up to three slightly higher sections and ramps leading down to two lower sections and when looking at the map from above looks quite complicated. In the game itself, it is as equally complicated and it takes quite a number of games to get to know the terrain well. All tanks can have a key role in both Team Death Match and Death Match battles here and Ricochet players have lots of surfaces to bounce their shells off, round corners, to destroy enemy tanks.
Catch the Flag battles are interesting as quite unusually the flags are not on opposite parts of the map. The red flag is on the western edge of the map with the blue flag on the southern edge. Each flag is hidden behind a long natural wall and there is little room to maneuver, which is a great place for laying mines. There are two routes of attack on each flag and neither are very direct from the other base. If the base is defended well I would imagine that the chances of taking the flag is difficult and should give a real sense of achievement, which is hard to say on many other maps. The only negative aspect to this mode of battle is that a fair portion of the map, in the east and north, is typically left void of action. That said, Shaft players can find a position in the top corner where they can see some of the battlefield where there will be lots of opportunity to destroy enemy tanks. In fact, this position could be the deciding factor on who wins the catch the flag battle but you will be in open terrain and easily seen. If you play Control Points battles, it is perhaps a little easier but if you are up against a number of Ricochet tanks, you could have your hands full. Gubakha is available to players who hold the rank of Warrant Officer 1 and higher in the Ranks Structure. Booster Drop Zones on the Gubakha MapBelow is the plan of the Gubakha map showing some of the booster drop locations. For a large map the booster allocation is quite average with three repair kits, four double armour boosters and five double damage boosters. Both bases where the flags are positioned have a double armour box which are handy for defending players though the attacking players might get them first if you do not act quickly enough.
