Tanki Online - Maps - Red AlertRed Alert is quite a large map and one that is really good to play, which makes me wonder why it does not feature so often in the battles menu. Most of the battlefield is in urban terrain but there is some greenery in the south and west if you don't want to sit in a concrete jungle all game. The urban area is a sprawl of roads, bridges, sunken roads, walls and a sprinkling of buildings on the north and south.
Catch the flag, Control Points, Death Match and Team Death Match battles are great on Red Alert, even with fewer numbers than than would perhaps be required on other maps to make it a success. All players, regardless of which turret they want to use can have a really good battle as there are so many features to provide some cover from enemy fire and lots of long range sniping opportunities. The red team flag is in the north and the blue flag in the south, and there three very nearly direct routes available between the two. Many times you will find that only two of these routes are well defended, leaving the third route a near clear run, providing a sniper doesn't catch you in their field of vision. While Red Alert is a good sized map, there are only three control points. One is on the centrally raised small platform with another on the opposite of the bridge that feeds it. The third is on top of a small bridge to the east, in a somewhat exposed area due to be in an elevated position. Red Alert is available to players who hold the rank of Master Corporal and higher in the Ranks Structure. Booster Drop Zones on the Red Alert MapBelow is the plan of the Red Alert map showing all the booster drop locations. There is just one repair kit in this battlefield and it can be found in the central raised platform, however in control points battles it is replaced by one of the CP's, leaving no healing other than your personal supply. There are only double armour boosters and many players simply do not find these by accident as they are quite well hidden or at best obscured in someway from most angles. There are five double damage boosters, with the majority in the eastern half, encouraging lots of destruction against minimal enhanced protection. Whoever created this map was clearly of the mind that likes to attack rather than defend as only two of these boosters are within easy reach of team flag positions.
