Tanki Online - Maps - Year 2042Year 2042 is a medium sized map but is rather a complex one with loads of pathways, a small subway, a few bridges, lots of shipping containers, buildings and much more. Navigating the battlefield takes a little getting used to and your first visit could easily see you lose your bearings. This is another one of those maps that does not seem to be very popular despite it being available quite early on in the career of Tanki players. It is however a great place for all modes of battles.
The Catch the Flag battles I have taken part in here have been pretty crazy as the two flag positions in the north and south are not that far apart. Neither flag is especially easy to defend as there are plenty of options to approach both and in the case of the red flag, room to maneuver near the red flag is very limited so can be hard to defend in numbers. There are five Control Points in that game mode with three to the west that are all quite close to each other but not directly in a line of fire from each other. Another is on the raised platform next to the blue team flag position and the fifth one is under the same platform, down a grassy slope. Down here you will find an entrance to a small subway that takes you to the west near the middle of the three CP's. Death Match and Team Death Match battles can be fabulous with good numbers and all turrets can enjoy a really good game here. Ricochet have lots of walls and other solid objects to use to their advantage, while the likes of Smoky, Railgun, Vulcan, Thunder and Shaft can find elevated positions where they can shoot targets at longer ranges. Firebird, Freeze, Isida and Hammer can scurry around the myriad of ramps, containers and buildings, picking off enemy tanks along their way. Year 2042 is available to players who hold the rank of First Sergeant and higher in the Ranks Structure. Booster Drop Zones on the Year 2042 MapBelow is the plan of the Year 2042 map showing all the booster drop locations. There is a reasonably generous number of repair kits here with all three to the east side of the map. Two are at ground level between the two flag positions and the other is on the upper platform near the blue team flag position. There are four speed boosters, one in each corner of the battlefield, three double armour boosters centrally positioned and four double damage boosters.
